This way - The Absolute Everywhere

It's the way curtains hang

Exactly

It's the way the rug is curling at the corners and waving through the floor

Exactly

It's the way the light hangs out around the edges of the door frame

The marbling shadows on the plain cream wall

infinite shades, infinite ways

It's the way the dining room light reflects in the kitchen window

And the budless rose bush sits still on the patio wall

Its the way in the tipped over watering can

Poised

Right there

Alert and aware

It's the sound of feet sticking to the kitchen floor

None of this has happened before

Its the way the doorbell rings

And the thousand flashes of the TV screen

It's the way the grain in the ceiling goes on and on and on

It's the way of the sound deep inside the tap's drip

The way of this clink of plates

The cupboard shutting,

just like this

The rocking chair

Just sitting there

Detail of light everywhere

All this one thing.
